Originally from Canada, Kyla Price is a seasoned performer having made her musical debut at the tender age of 6 when she began piano lessons . From there, with her passion ignited, she continued to hone her craft completing her Grade 8 Royal Conservatory examination in Piano before heading to Acadia University to study Vocal Performance with a concentration in Musical Theatre and a double major study in Classical Voice. Having learned from some of the most sought after music educators on the east coast, Kyla moved to Toronto where she quickly became one of the city’s most beloved performers and earned the right to work with Lord Andrew Lloyd Webber and Simon Lee on a hit Canadian TV show, How Do You Solve a Problem Like Maria. In her 10 years in Toronto, she graced the city’s music venues with her one of a kind voice and a mixture of original music and pop cover tunes. She was also one of the founding members of an Andrews Sisters tribute group called At Ease who produced their own production, The Songbirds which was a tribute to female vocalists/composers – both groups played to sold out shows at some of Toronto’s finest venues. After falling in love with an Aussie who also shares her passion for music, Kyla moved to Melbourne in 2014 where she taught music before moving to the Gold Coast in 2018. After taking time off to have her daughter, resumed teaching in late 2019 before once again taking to the stage with Spotlight Theatre Co.'s The Bodyguard The Musical where Kyla earned a Gold Palm Award for Best Supporting Actress in a Theatre Musical for her portrayal of Nicki Marron. Last year while 6 months pregnant Kyla was one of the Diva's for Spotlight Theatre Co.'s Priscilla Queen of the Desert.
Kyla will once again resume teaching in April after having her son in November of 2021.
